Abstract
Kvaterne amonijeve soli ionski su spojevi općenite strukturne formule NR4 +A-, gdje R+ može predstavljati alkilnu ili arilnu skupinu, a A- bilo koji anion koji je inače prisutan u solima. Zbog njihove strukture, kvaterne amonijeve soli široko su korištene u industriji i bolničkom okruženju za kontrolu bakterijskog rasta u različitim sredstvima za čišćenje, korišteni samostalno ili dodani nekim drugim antimikrobijalnim sredstvima. U ovom radu predstavit će se pojam kvaternih amonijevih soli, sinteza kvaternih amonijevih soli, njihov način djelovanja na bakterijski rast, te kako bi to potencijalno moglo utjecati na sve češće pojavljujuću rezistenciju bakterija na antibiotike i antimikrobike.
Abstract (english)
Quaternary ammonium salts are ionic compounds, with a characteristic structure NR4 +A-, where R+ is an alkyl or an aryl group, while A- presents any anion usually found in salts. Because of their structure, quaternary ammonium salts are widely used in hospitals and the industry as antimicrobial cleaning products. With their main purpose for control of the growth of bacteria they can be added to cleaning products or used on their own. In this thesis the structure of quaternary ammonium salts will be introduced, along with their syntheses, and the way they affect bacterial growth. The effect of these compounds on the increasing antibiotic and antimicrobial bacterial resistance will also be discussed.
